EAST
COUNTY ABWA MINUTES
August 2, 2007
After the Pledge of Allegiance, our meeting began with a round of introductions. We then reviewed the minutes from our last meeting and they were approved. Susan gave the Treasurer=s report and noted we now have approximately $300.00 in our account. The following items were then discussed:
We discussed sending Jackie as our representative to the ABWA National Leadership Conference in North Carolina. Jackie provided us with a proposed budget. Based upon the amount of money we have in our treasury thus far, we discussed the possibility that we do not have enough money right now to contribute. However, we agreed to table the discussion until the next board meeting. We also discussed the possibility that we may be in a better financial position to sponsor someone to attend the next ABWA National Conference which will be held in Colorado in May 2008.Jackie attended the Inland Valley ABWA Counsel meeting, and we are now officially members of the Inland Valley Counsel.
Our member presentation was given by Stephanie West of The Ancient Palm. Stephanie discussed many common marketing mistakes and how The Ancient Palm can assist any business, large or small, in their complete marketing needs.
Our guest speaker, Bob McClellan, gave a talk on early American history from a Christian perspective.
Our guest speaker for September will be Patty Vargas from the Escondido ABWA chapter and our member presentation will be from Tracey Jenkins-Martin.
