EAST COUNTY ABWA MINUTES

June 7, 2007

After the Pledge of Allegiance, our meeting began with a round of introductions. We then reviewed the minutes from our last meeting and they were approved. Susan gave the Treasurer=s report and noted we now have $315.63. The following items were then discussed:

Old Business

We agreed to begin advertising in our e-newsletter for $5.00 per ad per month, or $50.00 per year.
We discussed our need to continue working on growing our membership. Stephanie will send out email reminders to all throughout the month.
We agreed to continue to table the issue of joining the ABWA Council until we are certain we have met our membership requirements.

New Business:

We agreed that our newsletter should have a link where we can RSVP directly to Jackie that we will be attending the next meeting;
We will start having a member spotlight in our newsletter;
Julie agreed to write an email inviting potential members to join us. Once Julie has finished, we will all be able to use this email to forward to our contacts;
Julie and Stephanie will have the password to our newsletter account. We agreed that the number of people who have the ability to change the newsletter should be limited;
Jackie handed out a brochure she designed to promote our East County ABWA chapter; Stephanie agreed to add graphics to the brochure;
We agreed to have a board meeting between regular meetings. Our board will meet the 3rd Thursday of each month at 9:00 am at CoCo's.

Our guest speaker, Janet Little, a certified nutritionist, then gave us a very informative talk on what foods to eat to promote better health and well being.
