EAST COUNTY ABWA BOARD MEETING MINUTES
September 20, 2007

The following topics were discussed:

1) We agreed to continue holding our Board Meetings at 9:00 am at Bistro D’Vine;
2)Julie will speak with Stephanie about the following items in our ABWA invite:

-The date for our next meeting needs to be corrected;
-Guests need to be advised of the meeting fee; and
-We cannot accept credit cards for the meeting fee

3) Susan reported that we now have $541.63 in our treasury. Susan will send out a Treasurer’s Report to the board members every month, and will also provide this information to individual members should they inquire;

4) We currently have 12 members and still need to meet our goal of 35. To that end, Susan will check with Judi about any conflicts with mentioning ABWA at the next Team Women meeting;

5) We discussed the 3 committees to be formed that will be announced at our next meeting:

- A committee who secures speakers for our meetings (and that committee will formulate parameters for future speakers/topics);
- A publicity/membership committee; and
- A scholarship committee (Julie & Kris).

6) We came up with an idea for our first fundraising event: An Easter Parade/ Egg Hunt at Dog Park! In preparation for this event, we need to find out the following information:

-Jackie will contact our past speaker from the City of La Mesa to see what permits and other requirements there may be for holding this event in a City of La Mesa park;
-Susan will speak with her insurance contact to find out the cost of insuring such an event;
-Jackie will contact the El Cajon animal shelter regarding the possibility of their joint participation in the event.

7) Susan will get information regarding a mentoring program to present at the regular ABWA meeting.

Our next chapter meeting is on October 4th .
